Natural virgin wool deserves gentle care to preserve its protective wool fat, which, thanks to the unique fiber structure of the wool, makes it difficult for bacteria to settle. For heavier soiling such as mud, dirt, sand, or slush, it is recommended to simply air the fabric outdoors. Afterwards, gentle shaking or brushing, or using a damp cloth for cleaning, is sufficient. In case more intensive cleaning is necessary, boiled wool can be gently hand-washed with special wool detergent. Care should be taken not to soak the overall for too long and to handle it gently after rinsing. Drying should be done in a lying position, gently pulling the fabric into shape. Wringing or rubbing should be avoided, as should drying in a dryer or on a heater, as this risks the garment shrinking.
